Project #1: Carving
Project #2: Courageous ~ Photoshop
For the Photoshop Project, we were required to choose an adjective that best described us, a quote about that adjective, and we had to incorporate a picture of us in the poster. I chose the adjective Courageous because courage is a powerful thing. I believe that each individual has their own courage. One of the courages I have is the courage to stand up to others when something isn't right. When I was in Elementary school, I was bullied by this one boy who was in my class since Kindergarten. I was also teased by my friends. They saw it as a joke, and I saw it as yet another burden. The bullying and teasing got so bad that I got sick and had to take special medicines and oils to help my digestive system work properly. I also went to the school Social Worker and she was able to help me stand up to the other students. I chose this quote because in the book Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (aka Sorcerer's Stone), Neville Longbottom stands up to his friends Harry, Ron, and Hermione because the Trio keeps getting in trouble and loosing House Points. At the final feast before Summer begins, Harry, Ron, and Hermione are awarded House Points for solving the mystery behind the Philosopher's Stone and basically saving the World. Neville is awarded 10 House Points (which is actually a lot because a student is usually awarded 1-7 points) for Courage. For the drawing portion, I used 4 (1 pixel, 2 pixels, 3 pixels, and 4 pixels) different brush settings because I wanted as much detail as possible. For the outline of both Me and the Hippogriff, I used 4 pixel brush. For my hair I used sized 3 and 4. My shoes had a bunch of tiny stars on them, so I used a finer brush, size 1, to get the details in. I also used size 1 and 2 for my watch. For the Hippogriff, everything except the outline (including talons and hooves) and beak was either a size 1, 2, or 3. I decided to leave myself the original background color partially because I messed up, and mostly because I really liked the contrast of the light colors. The light blue really stands against the grey of the background.
Project #3: DEFORESTATION ~ Photoshop
For this project, we had to pick a current event that we cared about. Other people chose Black Lives Matter, or Women's rights, or the recent Immigration Ban. I chose deforestation. It's a silent but terrible foe, that a lot of people don't know about. I care about our environment, and i want people to recognize the threats and react against it. If we band together, we can overcome the Deforestation threat. But, there are many more, such as ozone levels rising, pollution on both the land and in the ocean. Thousands of animals are dying because of what we're doing. And, it's evidently killing us too. For the Lumberjack, I used one color: black. The way that I was able to get the different colors was by changing the opacity on the different layers. The tree, that's a different story. I used the gradient tool, selected the type of gradient and the two colors.
Project #4: Minecraft Project
Day #1: Today I started to build the walls of my restaurant. It's four blocks high already, then I built sticky piston doors. When you right click the levers, the pistons slide open and closed. It actually took a while because my right click is weird.
Day #2: Today I started furnishing the restaurant. It's four stories high with a balcony level. I had the help of fellow classmate Tony (aka Jose) building the "frame" of the restaurant. I built working refrigerators, all with different food groups (Sweets/baked goods, vegetables, fruit, etc), and a stove top (this one doesn't work, but is decoration). I also have a cool little receptionist desk, made with library blocks, that has a flowerpot and a pen cup, a painting of the wither skeleton, and a framed iron sword (can be taken out in case of emergency).
Day #3: Today I started to build the tables. I used wooden stairs, fence pieces and grey wool carpet to make the tables. Again, all for decoration since there aren't any furniture pieces in Minecraft. Progress was slow because someone (*COUGHcharlieCOUGH*) popped in my server and threatened to spawn creatures that would destroy my restaurant. Luckily, Tony had my back and vanquished our foe. Only managed to furnish the third floor. Everything is good now :)
Day #4: Today I furnished the second floor. Progress was slow again because two more 'unwanteds' (as I call them) joined the server. Again, Tony and Zoe had my back. It was also slow because we were deciding where to build the garden; either on the balcony, or the balcony roof. In our experimenting, because my mouse is wack, I accidentally right clicked and destroyed the balcony roof. I fixed it though. Tony finished Oats's grave. Oats was Tony's pet pig, who had a dream of flying. The grave is located in front of the restaurant, feel free to stop by and say "Hi" to Oats.
Day #5 FINAL DAY: Today, we finished the process of the Eo-Friendly Restaurant.
