Poster Project 1
Describe your poster's message.
My poster's message is saying you know you someone when you put their needs before your own.
Describe your design choices for each- what were some of the choices you made and why?
I decided to use the concept of hearts for the background because hearts are connected to love.
Tell what makes your final design the best one. What design choices make it the most successful?
I think my final design is the best because it includes a margin and a good composition.
Tell three things you learned about designing a successful poster.
Composition, margin, and contrast.
I am currently working on getting ready to cut out my background.
I used shift to have perfectly straight lines. I needed to have it to cut out my background.
I used a picture to trace out a perfect brick pattern. This will be the detail of my background.
Now I need to cut out my background and then the arm. I am using the arm as a different layer so that it stands out.
I have been working very hard all week on coloring m people. I still need to cut out my arm and background.
Media Arts Final Project
I want to tinker and experiment with the Carvey. I want to see how detailed I can make a picture that I trace. All lot of my tracing is very detailed and I would like to see if the carve has all of the detail.
Today I finished my free draw. One success I had was I was able to start shadows and highlights on my picture. One struggle I had was blending out all of the details to make it look realistic. Tomorrow I will try to finish my laser cutter project.
Today I worked on finishing my Road to Success cut. One success I had was being able to color the skin tones. One struggle I had was that the dimensions on my brick cutout didn't one up. Tomorrow I will finish coloring.
Today I finished my Road to Success project. Tomorrow I will try to work on the 3Doodler.
My favorite parts of the trimester were working on my free draw when I was waiting for a piece to be cut or waiting for a piece of equipment and using the laser cutter was very fun with watching it finish and drop. I like working on my free draw because it gave freedom to experiment with shadows and highlights on my drawings. The reason I liked using the laser cutter because it was satisfying to see the cut finish and drop from the rest if the wood and then I got to color it and make it look realistic. I think you should get more pens so that it is easier to color in the drawing or cut. I learned how to use the laser cutter and use illustrator with tracing images. I also learned how to work with multiple layers in photoshop and how to start the paint pens so that you can color. One of the struggles I overcame was working with the size of my 3d arm so that it fit on my wood cut. It took 3 to 4 times to get it right so that it looked even on my other cuts. I had to keep going through 10.3.4.31 to get the arm size right. One of the things I would change would be the flow of the class. It was a little choppy and I wasn't with the class for some of the time. Another thing I would improve is the way we were transitioning.
